The 2006 Tee Up for Tots Golf Invitational, presented by Rexall, raised a recordbreaking $741,019 for the
Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation. Since its inception seven years ago, this first class golf
tournament has raised over $2.2 million in support of sick and injured children treated at the Stollery.
"This is an unbelievable record and truly the legacy of Tee Up For Tots and every person who has supported
(organizers) Sam Abouhassan and Kevin Lowe for the past seven years," says Dianne Young, Foundation President & CEO.
"I can't begin to thank the sponsors, golfers, auction bidders, volunteers, and everyone involved," says
Sam Abouhassan. "Kevin and I are truly overwhelmed by the generosity of this community."
Mayor Stephen Mandel, Bruce Saville, Ryan Smyth, Craig Simpson, and Craig MacTavish, were a few of the
golfers who 'teed-up' to support this year's event at the Royal Mayfair Golf and Country Club. A
hole-in-one on the eighth hole, sponsored by Century Hospitality Group, was the buzz on the course, and the
lucky golfer, Greg Cust, went home with $50,000.
Some of the auction items that guests could bid on included an opportunity for two to golf at the exclusive
Augusta Golf & Country Club. Bruce Saville paid $50,000 for the once in a lifetime opportunity. Others bid on a
trip to attend the Masters Golf Tournament, four Oilers jerseys donated and signed by Ryan Smyth, and a room
naming opportunity at the Stollery Children's Hospital.
Our thanks to all event sponsors, volunteers, Royal Mayfair Golf and Country Club, and the community for helping
make miracles happen.
